Boards very sharp and clean. Nice sharp spine ends, title gilt perfect. Text block clean, with toning to edges, slightly more pronounced to the top edge, and some waviness to the fore-edge of the text block . Previous owners name and date to the FEP. The pages are otherwise unblemished. Feels very lightly read. Near fine condition. Jacket has crease to the front panel due to a previously ill fitting archival cover, there is a touch of sunning to spine but does not detract on the shelf. Overall a near fine copy. This is a first printing of Morgan's first novel, signed and dated at the time of publication - - 5/02/2002. The book is 20 years old this year, yet is in great shape. The binding square, no marks or bruises and the colour is as new. The text is clean throughout - particularly the white endpapers (see photo). The text block is clean and the only defect is v slight spots to the top edge. The jacket has no nicks and is clean and sharp. Altered Carbon was awarded the Philip K Dick award and this and other volumes were made into a Netflix TV series. in 2018. An important SF debut.
