About This Item

First Edition. Very Good / Good. Founded in 1908 at Howard University, AKA was the first African American sorority. The late Dr. Parker was the author of 2 previous books about the history of AKA. The book has scratches on the spine, and there is some underlining and parenthesis in the text. The previous owner (an AKA member) is written on the front free end page. The dust jacket has scratches and paper loss on the spine and half inch tears on the top and bottom of the spine. There is a half inch tear at the front flap, as well as shelf and edge wear. Included is the booklet: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.: Alpha Xi Omega Chapter (Dallas area), 2000 Pictorial Directory; a 96 page softcover book.
