A LARGE-PAPER COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION of this landmark study of Occitanian history and culture, including Gascony, Provence, the Alps, and Piedmont. XX, 21-287 pp. ONE OF ONLY 50 NUMBERED COPIES PRINTED ON FINE JAPANESE PAPER, THE ONLY LARGE-PAPER COPIES (the regular edition was printed on cheap wood-pulp paper.) 8vo. Beautifully bound in later three-quarters Havana morocco and marbled boards. Top edge gilt, other edges uncut. Original wraps and backstrip preserved (the front cover is beautifully desgined in color and gold by Charles Toche.) IN PERFECT CONDITION, like new with no defects. Labarère 56. Large-paper copies are very rare.
