FIRST EDITION 1884 DELUXE BINDING, 130 x 90 mm, 5¼ x 3½ inches, cream imitation morocco over thin card, blind stamped ruled border to covers, beautiful gilt illustration to upper cover, gilt lettered to upper cover, all edges gilt. Coloured frontispiece, coloured floral vignette to title page and 12 very pretty half page coloured illustrations of young children. Very small bump to lower corner of upper cover and first 4 leaves, very slight pale foxing to top margin of most pages, a little in inner margins of centre page, no inscriptions. A near Fine clean copy. This larger format for the second almanack in the series was tried out after the success of the first of 1883, but the smaller size was preferred for all the rest.
