About This Item

New York: Doubleday & Company, 1965. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Near Fine. 8.5" by 5.5". None. The first edition of this science fiction novel by Clifford D Simak. Held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Clifford D Simak was a very famous science fiction writer. During his lifetime he was honoured with all three Hugo Awards and one Nebula Award. He was also the third 'Grand Master' of the Science Fiction Writers of America. All Flesh is Grass is set around a small town in Wisconsin which is closed off from the outside world by a mysterious barrier placed there by benign extraterrestrial beings. The extraterrestrials take the form of a patch of purple flowers, alike to the pictorial dustwrapper of this edition. The small town is named Millville, Simak's birthplace, and often the setting for his stories. In original black cloth binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent with some very minor shelfwear. Very small evidence of some damp staining to tail of spine and bottom of boards. Dustwrapper is also excellent with minor shelfwear. A small amount of bumping to the head and tail of spine as well as some handling marks to the rear wrap. Dustwrapper is preserved in an acetate wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean throughout. Fine
