New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1933. First edition [1933], with the Scribner's A on the copyright page and 1933 on the title page. One condition issue, otherwise near fine - about a third of the dedication page, which contains the first page of the preface on the other side - has been torn out, with loss of most of the first page preface text but not the illustration. Bright red, unfaded cloth lettered in gilt with a horse motif in black, 252 pages. The book has very minor rubbing to the corners and spine ends, bright fabric and gilt, good hinges, firm text block, very clean pages free from names or other markings. Collected short "true" tales of cowboy life, told with the author's usual wry humor, and illustrated throughout with the author's line drawings. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
