Price clipped. Inked name on ffep. Tiny chips top and bottom spine and some corner tips dj. Only the slightest text-block and endpaper toning and external wear. No markings, tight binding, clean, white and bright. 7.5" x 9.5". Illustrated red cloth with gilt lettering on front board, gilt lettering to front board and spine. Illustrated dj in acetate protector. "Will James (1892-1942] was a French Canadian artist and writer of the American West. He is known for writing Smoky the Cow Horse, for which he won the 1927 Newbery Medal This collection of autobiographical essays and short fiction distills the conversational style of Will James. In his easy-going cowboy vernacular, James patiently explains the ins and outs of cowboy life while giving the good parts a bit of a romantic glow and all the rest his dry, even-tempered humor.".
