Contents are in five parts: 1) The Most Celebrated Harpist in Europe; 2) The Composer; 3) The Writer; 4) The Teacher; and 5) Artiss de Volt and her Harp Teacher. Indexed. 200 pp. Illustrated dust jacket bears a black and white photograph on the front and back with dark red and gray lettering on a white background. <br><br>EXCERPT FROM THE DUST JACKET: "Artiss de Volt, harpist, is widely known on both sides of the Atlantic and brings to her performances an unusually rich musical background. Miss de Volt made her professional debut at Boston while still a student at the Girls' Latin School. After graduating from the New England Conservatory of Music, where she built a firm musical foundation, she continued her study of the harp in Vienna, with Alfred Holy, world famous harpist of the Boston Symphony, the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Societies, and the Bayreuth Festivals. Later she became a member of the distinguished faculty of the Mozarteum Academy, Salzburg, Austria, where, among the greatest musical personalities of the period, she taught, gave concerts, and appeared with the Mozarteum Symphony. [...]" <br><br>CONDITION: Both the book and dust jacket are near fine with light wear. Minor soiling on the cover and some fading of the text on the spine. Textblock is clean and unmarked except for mild discoloration within the endpapers and dust foxing along edges. A very nice copy with strong hinges and a sound binding. Full refund if not satisfied.
