Each book has the top corner clipped on the first blank page. Justine and Balthazar have a light crease on the spine. Very little shelfwear. The slip case has sunning slong the opening edges and a bumped lower back corner. The box is in browns illustrated with a drawing of people in front of a city. This may not match the stock photo. Justine has the blue spine, while Palthazar has a purple spine and Mountolive has a green spine and Clea has a brown spine. The spine are lightly sunned. Designed by Jim McMullan.. Paperback. Very Good/Very Good (Boxed Set). 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Fiction, Classic.

Synopsis

The Alexandria Quartet is a tetralogy of novels by British writer Lawrence Durrell, published between 1957 and 1960. A critical and commercial success, the books present four perspectives on a single set of events and characters in Alexandria, Egypt, before and during World War II. As Durrell explains in his preface to Balthazar, the four novels are an exploration of relativity and the notions of continuum and subject-object relation, with modern love as the subject.
