No date; circa 2007. Beautiful example of the original big book. Bright red full-cloth boards, gilt embossed cover and spine titles, fine. Small gilt impression to front board: "Reproduction Published by The Anonymous Press". Pages near fine. Small inscription at front pastedown: "Chipper H., From Ray, 12-25-2007". Bind fine, square. Dust wrapper, fine; protected in new clear sleeve. Classic red and yellow striped jacket design. Very attractive. Scarce high quality facsimile first printing in near fine condition. In 1938, after about 100 alcoholics in Akron and New York had become sober, the fellowship decided to promote its program of recovery through the publication of a book, for which Bill Wilson (Bill W.) was chosen as primary author. The book was given the title Alcoholics Anonymous and included the list of suggested activities for spiritual growth known as the Twelve Steps. The movement itself took on the name of the book. The Big Book has served as a lifeline to millions worldwide. First published in 1939, Alcoholics Anonymous sets forth cornerstone concepts of recovery from alcoholism and tells the stories of men and women who have overcome the dis-ease. 400 pages.
