A rare collection of photographs each described and presented in lavish book with touching to the photographs and contents. An earlier version had been pub. in 1882 with plainer presentation and only 108 photographs with no descriptions, This enlarged and sumptuous production was an attempt by the authorities to give a postive view of the Franciscans.. 1st Edition.
