About This Item
[New York]: Russian Socialist Federation, 1919. Original publisher's cover. This album, measuring 28 x 35 cm and bound with string ties, contains 47 pages filled with striking half-tone photographs depicting various aspects of the Russian Revolution. The album's exterior shows signs of wear; its spine has been re-covered and the ties have been replaced. The title page has been somewhat unprofessionally re-affixed to the album using cloth tape, resulting in chipping on the title page and some staining on the first illustrated page. However, the rest of the album is internally clean and in sound condition.

Designed with an American audience in mind, as indicated by bilingual captions in Russian and English and a price in dollars on the back cover, the album features an array of content. It includes portraits of key leaders and officials from the Revolution and the nascent republic, alongside images of worker groups, soldiers, and scenes depicting military engagements, demonstrations, celebrations, political assemblies, and more.
