AL JOLSON (1886-1950). Jolson, an actor, jazz singer, and Broadway star, frequently performed in blackface, most notably in the 1927 film The Jazz Singer, one of the first “talking” movies. PS. N.d. N.p. A black-and-white photograph inscribed and signed “To Meyer Davis, With best wishes Al Jolson”. Meyer Davis was an American bandleader. The photo is in very good condition; it backed to a board and two corners are chipped.
