About This Item
San Diego, California, U.S.A.: Gulliver Books, 1990 Near Fine in Near Fine unclipped dust jacket, Stated First edition, first printing (number line A through E), this is a lovely book, depicting Aida, Ethiopian princess, who is sold into slavery. It is presented as told by Leontyne Price, who first appeared in the role in Verdi's opera in San Francisco in 1957. It is beautifully illustrated by Caldecott winners, Leo and Diane Dillon. Very very nice with the lightest of wear. There is a neat gift inscription on the half title page, about three by five inches: "Christmas 1991 To my mother Who has more childlike wonder and enthusiasm than any adult I know. With love always Jonie"
