About This Item
New York: Harper & Brothers, 1945 Black cloth hardcover with gold lettering on spine, pictorial endpapers, 311 p., a nice clean tight copy, dust jacket shows very light soil and very light wear at top right front corner at fold and at top of spine, the book itself is not signed but laid inside this book is a postcard of St. George and the dragon hand written in ink by the author from London to a New York friend complaining about London (the food and hotel) and the card is signed by the author with his initials "FP," the book came from a collection of signed Prokosch books and this one is the only one that was not actually signed on the book and the post card authenticity might be questioned except for the fact that the book was in the collection of signed copies, the initials "FP" look a little like "JP" but his letter "F" sometimes looks like a "J" and the initials (as well as the entire lengthy message) are squeezed into a small space.. About DJ Ernst-Books
A small clean well-lighted store established in 1975 in Selinsgrove Pennsylvania, DJ Ernst-Books offers a diverse interesting stock of out-of-print, used, and antiquarian books. There is limited space and therefore quality is stressed over quantity. I treat each customer as an important person. My book shop is open 6 days a week, and is located in the scenic Susquehanna River Valley. Susquehanna University, with their expanding writing program, is located in Selinsgrove. Thus, several of my customers are writers or aspiring writers.
