PO initials to fEP. Anthology of Latino, Mestizo & Puerto Rican poets who write, primarily, in English. The "After Aztlan" title evokes the historical/mythical ancestral home of Aztec peoples, as well as Mexican territories annexed by the US following the Mexican-American War of 1846 - 1848 ... literally near half of then Mexico, encompassing present-day states of California, Nevada & Utah, most of New Mexico, Arizona & Colorado, and, parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas & Wyoming. Contributors to this anthology have cultural roots to extending to that past. Lead poem from Francisco Alacon titled "In a Neighborhood in Los Angles" reads: "I learnt/ Spanish/ from my grandma/ mijito/ don't cry/ she'd tell me/ on the mornings/ my parents/ would leave/ to work/ at the fish/ canneries/ ... / one day/ I was told:/ she went far away/ but still/ I feel her/ with me/ whispering/ in my ear/ mijito".
