Dust jacket is in fine condition; wrap-around woodcut illustration is in outstanding condition. 5.5 x 8 in., 251 pp. Woodson was a pioneer in African American historical research. In 1926 he launched the celebration of ""Negro History Week"", the precursor of Black History Month.
