About This Item

Very good condition with firm binding, clean pages, name of James Work, Naval Air Station, Lakehurst N.J. on front free endpaper dated Nov. 20, 1926. Work served as a naval airship designer and chief draftsman at the Lakehurst NJ Air Station (where the Hindenburg disaster later occurred in 1937), and and founded Brewster Aeronautical Corp in 1932. Brewster first manufactured seaplane floats and wing panels, but rapidly grew into a defense contractor producing aircraft of dubious quality due to rushed wartime expansion, design issues, labor problems and suspected worker sabotage. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
