Volume 1: Aerodynamics : Very Good +. "Second Edition" stated on title page dated 1909. Publisher's blue cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine and blind-stamped titling on front cover. xvi + 442 pp. Heavily illustrated with drawings, charts and photographs. frontispiece photo detached and with one inch tear and degraded corner. Slight water stains on front endpaper and 2nd of cover. These are the only blemishes found on this very excellent hundred year old plus copy.
Volume 2 : Aerodonetics: Very Good +. "Second Edition" stated on title page dated 1910. Publisher's bluish-green cloth binding with gilt letting on the spine and titling stamped into the cloth on the front cover. xv + 433 pages, including Glossary, eight Appendices, and Index, followed by the publisher's separately paginated 64-page Catalogue of Technical and Scientific Books dated 1916, which includes its own Index of Titles.
Both volumes are heavily illustrated with drawings, diagrams and photographs throughout, including frontispiece illustration. Large fold-out illustration, the Phugoid Chart, between pages 60 and 61 of vol. 2.
Large, heavy books measuring 8 7/8" x 5 7/8" x 1 5/8" and weighing nearly 3 pounds each. VERY GOOD + condition. Light wear to the spine ends and corner tips. Corner tips curled inward slightly but not bumped. Only a slight touch of sunning to the spine of Vol. 2 with gilt remaining very bright and unworn. Otherwise bright and very clean with very little wear. Tightly bound, straight and square, with strong, sound hinges and joints with no cracking. Excellent interiors with bright, clean, unmarked, practically flawless pages. The fold-out chart is completely intact, in perfect condition and still tipped in. Tan shadow on front and rear endpapers from previous extraneous inserts.
