Hardcover. 8vo - 23 x 15 cm.; 399 pp. Dark blue cloth over boards with gilt lettering and decorations on the spine. The head edge of the text block is stained a dark blue as issued. This is volume 14 in the 26 volume "Library of Christian Classics". Contents: John Wycliff, 1 - "John Wyclif, Advocate of Radical Reform" by Matthew Spinka, 2 - "On the Pastoral Office" edited and translated by Ford Lewis Battles, 3 - "On the Eucharist" edited and translated by Ford Lewis Battles. Conciliarists, 1 - "Conciliarism as Ecclesiastical Reform" by Matthew Spinka, 2 - "Henry of Langenstein: A Letter on Behalf of a Council of Peace" edited and translated by James Kerr Cameron, 3 - "John Gerson: On the Unity of the Church" edited and translated by James Kerr Cameron, 4 - "Dietrich of Niem: Ways of Uniting and Reforming the Church" edited and translated by James Kerr Cameron, 5 - "John Major: Disputation of the Authority of a Council" edited and translated by James Kerr Cameron. John Hus, 1 - "John Hus, Advocate of Spiritual Reform" by Matthew Spinka, 2 - "On Simony" edited and translated by Matthew Spinka. Desiderius Erasmus, 1 - "Desiderius Erasmus: A Humanistic Reformer" by Matthew Spinka, 2 - "The Enchiridion" edited and translated by Ford Lewis Battles. Three page bibliography, 14 page index of names and subjects, and a 4 page index of biblical references. The library markings, none of which are external, are a stamp on the title page and unused attachments on the back end papers. Previous owner's name crossed out on the front free end paper, otherwise the book is clean with a sound binding and having only mild wear to the spine tips. The dust jacket is worn on the edges with small chips and creases. .
