Octavo (9.5" x 6.5"), [17] & 6 - 714 pages (as issued), with numerous full page illustrations by Walt Spitzmiller. Publisher's full brown leather, the spine in five compartments separated by raised bands, elaborately lettered & decorated in gilt. All edges gilt, ribbon marker sewn in, moire fabric endpapers.
A Fine & apparently unread copy.
A nice copy of Drury's stunning novel which was characterized by Jonathan Karl as a "compelling portrait of American social and political history." The book was awarded the 1960 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.
