Full leather, gilt double rule on boards, no titles or labels on spine. Garrison-Morton 1597 (referring to the French original): "A tract on medicine written for the lay public; it ran through many editions and was translated into all European languages. It has been called 'the greatest medical best-seller of the eighteenth century' (Singy, "The Popularization of Medicine in the Eighteenth Century: Writing, Reading, and Rewriting Samuel Auguste Tissot's Avis au peuple sur sa santé".
