Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1939-01-01. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Stamped on the front endpaper is "Review Copy, Publication Date Jun 1 1939, Price $2.50. The volume is lightly edge rubbed, gently creased on the spine, and the red spine lettering is a bit dulled. The pages are lightly toned. The uniformly corner clipped dust jacket (price of is 2.50 is intact) is edge rubbed, chipped, nicked and lightly chipped on the corners and spine tail (the crown has an angular chip running its length to a depth of 3/8" at the rear joint), and there are stains on the bottom edge of all panels. A few short closed tears, creases, and a mildly sunned spine also mar the jacket which has been wrapped lightly off-center to the spine.
