SECOND EDITION 1942, dated on reverse of front endpaper, IN DUSTWRAPPER, Ladybird series 417, small 8vo, 178 x 115 mm, 7 x 4½ inches, smooth green boards, dark green illustration and lettering to upper cover, blue pictorial patterned endpapers showing the little koala, (57) pages including 2 page catalogue of other series. 25 full page coloured illustrations all featuring Wonk, blue title vignette and tiny blue vignettes on text pages. Tiny bump at head of spine, no inscriptions, small crease to lower corner of 1 text page. A near Fine clean copy in VG DUSTWRAPPER with blank flaps (dw: head and tail of spine and corners slightly worn, 15 mm (¾") split at top of lower hinge, another larger split to top of lower fold, both mended on reverse with transparent tape, minute chip to lower edge of upper panel, 4 mm (¼") chip to lower edge of lower panel, slight creasing near top of lower panel). Minute bump to head of spine, neat inscription on reverse of title page, a near Fine clean bright copy in very good plus DUSTRAPPER (dw: inner flaps not printed, 25 mm (1") closed tear to upper edge of upper panel next to spine, head and tail of spine and corners very slightly rubbed, 3 minute scratches to spine, lower panel dusty and slightly marked).
