Size octavo, 64 pages. Pictorial boards illustrated by Pauline Baynes, matching dust jacket. Book condition very good, hinges rubbed, previous owner's name to front end-paper else contents very clean. Dust jacket condition very good, corners and edges rubbed with a couple of creases and some chips, 1x1 inch tear without loss to upper edge of front panel, 1.5 x .5 inch tear with loss to front lower outer corner, not price clipped, blue A & U sticker without price over the original price. With wonderful illustrations by Pauline Baynes. Tom Bombadil also appears in The Fellowship of the Ring. He was the oldest being in Middle-Earth along with TreeBeard and the other Ents. He was always there from the begining. JRR Tolkien created Tom as a founding father of middle-earth much as Aule was a father of the people of middle earth.
