About This Item
Boston : Henry L. Shepard & Co. , 1874. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. Ferat. Black lettering & blind stamped decoration on white covers in hand-made brown paper wrappers - which had kept this volume in fine condition! 12mo, 190 pages. Tenth Thousand. Ex- library copy - This is Volume No.26 of the West Bath (Maine) Library Association, with their label on the inside of the back cover. The unusual library label says: "N. B. This book must not be lent out of the subscribers family, and if injured, all damage must be paid to the librarian. No volume can be kept over four weeks ; two weeks additional time will be allowed by having it renewed. A fine of two cents per day will be charged for a book kept over this time. A violation of these rules will result in a loss of membership.". Other than the brown paper wrapper pasted on the inside of the covers, and the library bookplate, this is a truly fine copy.
