New York: Christian Press Association Publishing Co, 1896. HB. Black cloth, gilt lettering on red leather label on spine, 12 mo, 314 pp. + ads at rear, TEG. "Translated by P. S. A., Graduate of St. Joseph's, Emmittsburg". Covers show some staining, edge wear, no marks in text. Author (1806-1886) was the grandmother of General Charles de Gaulle. Uncommon English translation of this work of fiction, originally published as "Adhmar de Belcastel, ou Ne Jugez pas sans connatre" in 1840. OCLC locates one copy of an English translation, published in 1875, and held by the New York Public Library. Book condition VG-.
