About This Item
Boston: Loring, Publisher, 1875. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. First American edition. (Shaberman 17; he was uncertain about date. Apparently some copies also have tissue-guarded author frontispiece and ads at rear. This one doesn't; priority unknown.) 423 pp. Original brick red cloth with gilt lettering. Good condition with cloth thoroughly mottled with age, frayed at head and tail, spine lettering rubbed. Front hinge splitting at edges, still intact, though. Tiny contemporary owner inscription on front flyleaf. Light occasional internal foxing.
