New York: Homans Publishing Co, 1891. Pamphlet. Good. 7, [1] p.; 23 cm. "The Chamber of Commerce of New York, Upon Free Silver Coinage." Publisher's advertisement for "Books for Bankers, and Others" on final page. Contains the resolution of the New York Chamber of Commerce against the authorization of the unlimited free coinage of silver dollars and the address by John Jay Knox (1828-1892), Comptroller of the Currency from 1872 to 1884. In that capacity he was responsible for the Coinage Act of 1873, which discontinued the American silver dollar. In 1884 he became president of the National Bank of the Republic in New York City. In this address he opposes the resumed production of silver dollars. Scarce. In Good Condition: first page and last are browned and detached; loss along gutter of first page, without loss of text; corners creased; written in ink at upper edge of first page "Recd Feby 14, 1892"; otherwise, clean and solid.
