Inscribed and signed by Associate editor Wendell D. Garrett on front endpaper. This diary was accidentally discovered among papers at the Vermont Historical Society. It is believed to have been in the possession of a young Royall Tyler, once a suitor for the hand of John Adams's daughter Abigail. It contains material on Adams's life as an undergraduate at Harvard, his choice of a career, his law studies and his first case as a practicing lawyer, his ambitions, and his observations on girls. Large 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall.
