London: Arms and Armour, 1989. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 219 pp., b/w photos, appendices, tables, bib., glossary, index. Short biographies of German aces on land, sea and air. Tipped-in on the half-title p. is a signed b/w photo of Erich Rudorffer. He was the 7th highest scoring air ace in the history of aviation with 222 victories. On 19 Aug. 1942 he shot down 8 British aircraft in 32 minutes. On 6 Nov. 1943 he shot down 13 Russians in 17 minutes, He also flew the Me262 (German Jet) & had 12 victories. He flew over 1,000 missions of which over 300 were combat missions. He was shot down 16 times & bailed out 9. He sank a British submarine. Rudorffer won the Knight's Cross w/oak leaves & swords, the Iron Cross 1st & 2nd class & the German Cross. Oddly he is not cited in this book. Hard cover book & d/w both in near fine cond. There is a little bleed thru from the half-title p.
