Including original frontispiece portrait of Beattie, original introduction by Forbes and even the original errata pages to rear of each volume. James Beattie FRSE (1735 - 1803) was a Scottish poet, moralist and philosopher. In cloth bindings. Externally, in a lovely condition with only minor shelfwear. Internally, firmly bound. Generally bright and clean throughout with only minor handling marks to text block edge. Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
