About This Item

At The Blew Anchor In The Lower Walk Of The New Exchange, London: H. Herringman, 1676. Hardback. Very Good. First ‘Englished’ edition, 1676, with full leather binding. In overall very good used condition with only minor signs of age, handling and storage - brown leather boards, with embossed decoration, gilt tooling to edges and five raised bands and red gilt title label to spine, are slightly rubbed but remain in particularly good condition. Binding tight and seems almost unread - appears to have been professionally re-backed at some time in the past. Internally clean, no annotation, inscriptions or foxing - two ownership signatures neat to title page; page-ends tanned but text bright and clear throughout. The book measures - l:170mm, w:110mm, 422pp and is a handsome copy indeed. Photographs available. Not an old library book.

About Hall of Books

We sell secondhand books and sheet music online and offer an eclectic (perhaps eccentric!) selection ranging from modern first edition hardbacks and quality paperbacks to the interesting, unusual and rare; the hard-to-find, collectable and out-of-print....and a lot more in between! We do our best to describe and photograph our books and music accurately, and to package them securely when they sell. We do not rely on stock images. If you need more information on a particular item, or if we have not yet uploaded a photograph for a particular listing, please contact us and we will respond by return.
