New York City: Johnson Reprint Corp, 1967. Hardcover. large folding map. pp. 211. 4to. Bound in blue cloth. Folding map. Bookplate, a few pencil marks, faint smoky odor; very good. A facsimile reprint of the 1744 first edition, which is Peel 18. Dobbs (1689-1765) never visited Hudson's Bay 'but derived considerable information from French publications and Canadian sources, especially from Joseph La France, a half-breed fur trader, in London in 1742. Dobbs opposed the Hudson's Bay Company's monopoly.' (-A Bibliography of Canadiana) Scarce item, even in this form.
