James Nisbet & Co., 1891. 1st. Hardback. Good. First edition hardback in the 'Lives That Speak' series, 1891, with no jacket as issued. In overall good used condition with minor signs of age, handling and storage - green cloth boards rubbed to edges and cloth slightly worn to spine head and tail. Internally clean. Binding tight and appears little read; no annotations or inscriptions - prize plate to front pastedown dated 1894; light tanning to page-ends but text and lithographic portrait to fontis bright and clear throughout. Not an old library book.
