About This Item

Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company. Good with no dust jacket. 1928. Hardcover. Beveridge's history of Lincoln is a well-regarded classic. This is the two volume edition issued in red 3/4 leather with leather spines with five raised bands and leather corner tips, top edge gilt. Each volume has a frontis portrait with tissue guard as well as additional portraits (and a map in volume 1). Index in vol. 2. There is a previous owner's bookplate on the front paste down in each volume. The pages are clean and bright with no writing or other markings to the interior or exterior. NOTE: The spines are deteriorating and chipped, and the covers of both volumes are detached. This set is obviously a candidate for spine and cover restoration. Pagination: 607 p., 761 p. Ref: Howes B408. Please contact us if you have any questions.; B&W Illustrations; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 607, 761 pages .
