About Buying a Horse &c. &c., London: Bradbury Agnew, 1875. 12mo, priority unknown to me, xii, 291, contemporary marbled paper-covered boards three-quarter-bound in black morocco, gilt lettering and floral decoration to spine, top edge gilt, former owner's name on a fly page. Francis Cowley Burnand wrote an enormous number of lightweight plays, including for Gilbert & Sullivan, and wrote for and edited Punch magazine. This horse-buying memoir is scarce in the marketplace but widely held in institutional libraries, according to OCLC Worldcat. The book also includes the briefer works "The Story of My Legal Examination," "My Aunt's Great Police Case," and "Our Representative Man." Condition of this book: Wear at extremities, overall very good. Size: 12mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting.
