He was a gifted lawyer, a Revolutionary War hero and the Vice President in Thomas Jefferson's administration. But he was not trusted by many of our founding fathers. Buckner F. Melton, a historian and professor of law at the University of North Carolina, offers fascinating insights into Burr's protean character and personal demons that toppled his life and political career, and marked his as treasonous villian in United States history. Book Condition is clean and tight, no marking or soiling. Author signed book on title, with a very nice inscription, and dated this copy in year of publication. 278 pages, first edition, first printing. Contains maps and illustrations, index, notes, and suggestions for further reading. Dust Jacket condition is Near Fine; clean with price intact, and one very small nick at top of jacket, which is not noticeable in myar sleeve. Handsome copy.
