About This Item

New York, New York: John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2001. First Edition. . Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. F/NF1st ed./Signed. Best know as the man who killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804, Aaron Burr was socially prominent, brilliant, handsome and charismatic. He was a gifted lawyer, a Revolutionary War hero and the Vice President in Thomas Jefferson's administration. But he was not trusted by many of our founding fathers. Buckner F. Melton, a historian and professor of law at the University of North Carolina, offers fascinating insights into Burr's protean character and personal demons that toppled his life and political career, and marked his as treasonous villian in United States history. Book Condition is clean and tight, no marking or soiling. Contains maps and illustrations, index, notes, and suggestions for further reading. Dust Jacket condition is Near Fine; clean with price intact, and one very small nick at top of jacket, which is not noticeable in myar sleeve. Handsome copy.
