About This Item
Hardcover Book in Dust Jacket. Early Reprint. Book is Near Fine with a square and tight binding and bright, clean contents. Covers show gentle rubbing and light bumping and wear at tips. Jacket is in Good to Very Good condition, is whole and complete with edge wear and chipping. I have enclosed the jacket in a removable mylar sleeve to protect it from further wear. A very nice copy of this Seuss classic. This is a reprint edition in excellent condition. The price on the Jacket is $2.95 which places it around 1960. The hats go small to large on the front end papers and large to small on the rear endpapers.
Synopsis
The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins is a children's book, written by Dr. Seuss and published in 1938. Unlike the majority of Dr. Seuss's books, it is written in prose rather than rhyming and metered verse. The characters of Bartholomew and King Derwin appear again in a later book, Bartholomew and the Oobleck. Set in feudal times, the story begins in the Kingdom of Didd, when King Derwin is riding through a street past Bartholomew Cubbins, a poor boy in the market.
