About This Item

U. S. A.: Doubleday, 1958. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First American Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition Hardcover and Mylar protected Dust Jacket. Near Very Good Cloth. No writing in book. NOT a library copy. The Jacket has several chips at extremities but bright in mylar jacket. Robert Graves whose devotion to the 'White Goddess' made his prose into poetry. Many essays and lectures here. A great one on the Jews of Majorca and their journey from Sephardic Spain. The dust jacket has some chips along it's extremities and some light wear but looks nice and bright in it's mylar jacket. Internally the book is good, binding tight, pages clean. This is uncommon collection of Graves at his rascally best. Paul was not really Jewish, as Graves makes pretty clear. First American Edition. Our 35 year old book shop is named after his White Goddess inspiration. We wrap our books with the respect they deserve..
