Terrell, TX: Bill Mills, 1951. Paperback. 59, [1]p., illustrations, wraps. 8x5.5 inches. Leaves browned; spine chipped; covers creased. Good. Autobiography of a Texas convict who found God and made his way around the country lecturing. The author recounts his experiences incarcerated at Texas State Penitentiary. Discusses the dire conditions on Sugar Land Farms, meals, corporal punishment at the hands of guards, efforts at modernization and reform, and solicits schools and churches to hire Mills as a speaker to deter juvenile delinquency. Mills first published the book in 1938 and 1939 in OK and TX. This includes two pages updated to 1951.
