About This Item
HUNTINGTON LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA CA. Good+. 1920. Suede Leather. On offer is a charming, small grouping of original manuscript and ephemeral items dating back to the Roaring 1920's once belonging to young lady named Eleanor Darlington who lived in Huntington California in Los Angeles County. The archive relates to Eleanor's life when she attended Huntington Park Union High School. Included is a 6 1/4" x 9" suede leather memory journal titled in gilt 'From Day to Day at School' wherein there are 15 pages of handwritten entries by her friends recalling moments they shared with her and of the fun they had together. A number of small photographs of Eleanor and some friends are pasted on the pages throughout the journal. There are also three loose photographs, the first is a real picture postcard of Eleanor when she was only 3 years old, dated March 1, 1909. Another of a pretty Eleanor on the beach inscribed "Eleanor & Catalina". The third photo is inscribed: "Rolando and Eleanor, July 22, 1942 - Anniversary 3 years".
