About This Item

S.N, 1912. Unbound. Very Good. 8x6x1. Nicely framed with paper backing over grey linen background. Inscribed 'To Mr. & Mrs. J.A. Hodgman with the best wishes of Theodore Roosevelt Aug 23d 1912.' This signature is dated several years after TR's tenure as U.S. President, and shortly after the Progressive National Convention which saw the formation of the Bull Moose Party. An attempt to assassinate Roosevelt was just two months in the future (he was shot and survived but, rather than seeking medical attention, proceeded to give a 90 minute speech). Some fading to photograph edges, minor wear to frame edges. 4 5/8 x 6 5/8. Frame is 7 7/8 x 11 7/8. Hardboard backer, wooden frame with black border accents.
