The 1909 Merrill's English Texts gathering of 'The Raven' (Edgar Allan Poe), 'The Courtship of Miles Standish' (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow), and Snow-Bound (John Greenleaf Whittier), with photo illustrations (daguerreotype in Poe's case) of the three noted authors. New York: Charles E. Merrill Co., 1909. 16mo, deep green cloth boards, imprinting in black on cover and spine, 198 pp (196+ 2 pp ads). 35 page introduction, uncredited, about the lives of each of the three authors. About Very Good, and scarce in even this condition. Moderate peripheral wear to the binding, a few small cover spots (scan), age-toning to the pages within, and, long ago, early owner Elizabeth M. Thorp of Mynderse Academy lightly signed the ffep and made a few light notation on late pages. Mynderse Academy is a high school in Seneca Falls, NY, the town considered by many to be the home of the Women's Rights Movement. Collectible textbook, and scarce, particularly in better than good condition. Ships in stout protection, of course. LT19
