First published by the Parton Press in 1934, the book was then pirated by the Fortune Press in 1942 and re-issued several times, in various bindings, this being in a pebbled burgundy cloth, and always with the 1934 publication date. Very good indeed in very good dustwrapper nicked at head of spine.

Previous bookseller sticker (small) to front pastedown. Previous owner inscription to front end paper (small). Some sunning to dust jacket with some rubbing to back spine edge. Spine heavily faded/sunned. Top edge of jacket has some creasing/bumping with top of spine torn (4mm). Otherwise a very nice copy. Hard. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo.

Published green cloth with gilt titling to spine, in unclipped (6s.) yellow dust jacket, with black titles to front and spine. Printed at Sevenoaks by Knole Park Press Ltd. Jacket toned with edge-wear, and loss to spine ends. The book shows some toning to endpapers, and some mild scattered foxing, but is otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. Very neat -- still a sound and handsome copy. 32pp..

Blue / grey cloth with gilt titles to rounded spine. With the yellow dust-jacket, priced at 6s. Hinges starting. Rubbing and bumping to board edges and corners. Gilt largely worn from spine. Jacket heavily rubbed and worn to edges; spine toned and rubbed. Losses to head and tail of spine; some further chips and closed tears. Very good. Thomas' first poetry collection, including 'The Force That Through the Green Fuse Drives the Flower.' Originally published in a very small edition by Sunday Referee & Parton Bookshop in 1934, the book was confusingly re-issued a number of times over the following decade without any edition statements on the copyright page, in a number of variant bindings.
