Toronto: William Briggs; Toronto Lithographing Co., 1896. Book. Illus. by McConnell, M. Cary; FitzGerald, Clara. Very Good. No Binding. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Attractively-presented pictorial calendar commemorating the 400th anniversary of Cabot's voyage to North America. Calendar comprised of loose sheets, lithographed, sewn at top with heavy gold silk cord, with front and back card covers. Front cover printed in gold and brown with portrait [Cabot]; back with publication information. Each month illustrated with sketches and portraits of Canadian historical figures, and dates listing Canadian historical events. Also included are four beautifully-executed portraits (Champlain, Frontenac, Wolfe, Monck) . Pieces missing from lower edges/corners of both covers (text not affected), slight chipping to some pages..
