Pages are fresh and crisp. Lavishly illustrated with 500 photographs, sketches, and drawings, 80 in full-color. Biographies of the architects. Pei, Aldo Rossi, James Stirling, etc. From the publisher: "All the drawings included are in the hand of the architect, and in them we see every kind of modern building -- from residential to commercial high-rise -- and every style of contemporary architecture -- from high modernism to individual work. Each example is complemented by a short essay on the architect and his or her achievements, and a photograph of the resulting model or built project… [The book refers] directly to their original drawings for structures built and unbuilt to sneak a peek at their creative minds. The drawings chosen for this volume were naturally selected for their artistic merit, but also are intended to reflect each architect's individual approach to style and spatial relationships. Essays and brief biographies place their lives in proper perspective." . First Edition. Hard Cover. Publisher's black cloth/No Dust Jacket. 272pp..

About About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
