About This Item

UK,12mo p/back,illustrated,reissue,1st edn thus. [Originally and first published as a p/back Original by PAN books Ltd.,(UK,1973),under title of 'Roger Moore as James Bond 007.' Out of print for over forty years, this is this publisher's first reissue of that, under this new title, and in this paperback format.] FINE-. No owner inscrptn and no price removal from cover. Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered,matt,wrap-around black background with subject's colour portrait photograph to front card cover with capitalised,white-lettered author name and capitalised,red-lettered part title THE 007 DIARIES and capitalised white-lettered sub-title FILMING LIVE AND LET DIE.Black spine/backstrip with similarly coloured+lettered title and author name as the front's and publisher's b/w colophon to foot of same, rear cover with capitalised, white+red lettered straplines and other white-lettered synopsis to a black background. Negligible shelf-wear to edges and corners - a pair of tiny bumps with reciprocal crease to front's lower edge of card cover - no other edges or corners affected and NO reading creases to spine/backstrip.Top+fore-edges bright, crisp and clean without foxing/spotting; contents bright, tight, crisp and clean, solid and sound - pristine with no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corner tips -unread,apart from my own collation. UK,12mo p/back, illustrated,reissue,1st edn thus,10-221pp [paginated] includes a Foreword by David Hedison [Felix Leitner] accompanied with an on film-set,thumbnail b/w photograph of him and Roger at foot of same, Acknowledgements (Roger Moore's with his black ink facsimile signature),a Cast list/table,the 007 Diaries, 8pp exclusive colour photographs by Luisa Moore and b/w stills from the film in 1 block, between pp128/29,a Postscript by Gareth Owen; plus [unpaginated]half-title+title pagesContents list/table,Editor's Note, and to the rear 2018 Acknowledgements to reverse of Postscript,a Sir Roger Moore memoriam(?) page with publisher's b/w advertisement for Alec Mills's SHOOTING 007 AND OTHER CELLULOID ADVENTURES as last page. Visually the exterior appearance is still exceptional despite the minorr bumps - else the grading would have been nearer to Near MINT.Particularly internally, contents are in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation, for a book of its 6 year-old age and nature, i.e. an ephemeral p/back. It is only the minor fault described that prevents a slightly higher grading overall.Despite those it is still an exceptional, exemplary example for its cleanliness, brightness and lack of other detracting faults. To tie-in with the release of his first James Bond film, 'Live and Let Die',Roger Moore agreed to keep a day-by-day diary throughout the film's production, which would be published just ahead of the premiere in July 1973. From his unveiling as the new 007 in 1972 through to his first scenes on location in New Orleans and his final shot in New york,Moore describes his whirlwind journey as cinema's mostfamous secret agent.Taking in the sights of Jamaica before returning to Pinewood Studios,Moore's razor wit and unique brand of humour is ever present. With tales from every location, including his encounters with his co-stars and key crew members,Moore offers the reader an unusually candid, amusing and hugely insighful behind-the-scenes look into the world's most successful film franchise.
