F. Bookshop stamp at base of rear paste-down. Tiny hint of off-setting on front end-paper & paste-down. Interior clear tape repairs to jacket. Some fairly shallow chipping at spine ends, and 1 1/2"-inch chipping along upper edge of front cover. Soil spot and rubbing to jacket. ) Melvin Van is the Afro-American film director Melvin Van Peebles, whose first book this is. Most uncommon signed by Ruth Bernhard, who's own copy this may well be as it was acquired in the Monterey region of California where she resided for many years.
