Description:
Penticton BC: Skookum Publications, 1995. First Edition. Soft cover. Fine. Apparently the 1st printing. Pictorial 4to wraps. 96pp. Illus. Signed "Enjoy / Doug Cox." From the cover: "On British Columbia's inland lakes and rivers the vessel of choice was the steam powered, paddle wheel driven, 'sternwheeler'. The S. S. Sicamous was the finest, and last of these magnificent boats to be built. This is the story of the 'Queen of Okanagan Lake.'" The author, Doug Cox, is one of those rare regional historians who just soaks up history wherever he goes and then writes cogently and in detail of that history, in his case mainly southern BC. Fine. Uncommon signed.
